If you are applying for a postgraduate course and have previously studied at Essex, you could be eligible for
a loyalty discount on the first year of your postgraduate tuition fees.
We offer many funding opportunities to support both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including a broad
range of University of Essex scholarships. You can search our scholarship
finder to see what is available.
We are delighted to announce 5 fully funded PhD Studentships for Home/EU students (with up to 1 available for overseas students), covering fees (£4,120 for 2017-18) plus stipend. Stipends
will match standard EPSRC rates (£14,553 for 2017-18). Studentships are for a period of 3 years and start from 1st October 2017.
Our School has a large and thriving graduate research community. We provide an active and stimulating environment to carry out your doctoral
research and have an extensive range of specialist labs and facilities.
All CSEE research areas are included, but we are especially interested to hear from applicants for the following topics:
- Brain Computer Interfaces and Neural Engineering
- Wireless Networks
- Optical Networks
- Neural Networks and Deep Learning
- Computational Finance and Economic Agents
- Natural Language Engineering and Computational Narrative
- Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
- Game AI
