The University Court
Membership information
The Court is a large body, with around 250 members, including
senior University office holders and members of academic staff and
students, as well as a wide range of external members. Up to 200
external members are appointed by the Council, the University's
governing body on the recommendation of its Nominations Committee.
These members are appointed on the basis of their interests and
expertise or other connections with the University and the
University endeavours to ensure that they are broadly representative
of the local community. There are no formal obligations or duties on
members as such, but the University hopes that members will attend
the Annual Meeting on a regular basis.
