Photographic Competition

Year Abroad students are invited to send in photos taken during their year abroad for the annual Photography competition.

Further information is generally sent out by the Study Abroad Office.

Jean Monnet Prize

The prestigious Jean Monnet prize is awarded every year to the Final Year student who has achieved the best overall performance through his/her degree in European Studies. In a multidisciplinary degree with a year in the continent (the third year) this is no minor accomplishment. During their residence abroad students follow courses in a continental university and must pass coursework and exams in their second language.  According to a yearly statistical analysis of data, most students do very well during their residence abroad and follow this performance up with an improved final year at Essex.  The Prize is donated by European Studies & the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence at the University of Essex.

Last year's prize was awarded to Oliver Butts at graduation - July 2012.
