Careers and skills
Our courses have a direct correlation with professional applications, leading
to enriched careers in this creative and exciting field, including refugee care,
management studies, adult psychotherapy, and child and adolescent psychotherapy.
Most of our students are already professionals, clinical and non-clinical,
who come to deepen their knowledge and academic understanding of their field and
return to their existing fields after studying with us. Areas of work where our
students are employed include:
- psychotherapists,
- psychologists and educational psychologists,
- residential care workers and managers,
- nursing,
- primary school teachers,
- University and higher education lecturers, and
- counsellors.

In addition to the various career paths, our graduates also continue in
higher education by undertaking postgraduate studies, here at Essex or at other
institutions, to continue to deepen their understanding of their chosen
specialism.
