The CER is a think-tank devoted to improving the quality of the debate on
the future of the European Union. It is a forum for people with ideas from
Britain and across the continent to discuss the many social, political and
economic challenges facing Europe.
European Consortium for Political
Research (ECPR)
ECPR is an independent scholarly association which supports and encourages
the training, research and cross-national cooperation of aprox. 8,000
political scientists in over 300 institutions throughout Europe and beyond.
Of particular interest may be its series of Summer Schools run across Europe
each year.
European Integration online Papers
(EiOP)
These are a series of papers published only online. In English, based in
Austria many of the papers are very useful and should be useful to you in
your research both as direct and bibliographic sources.
European Policy Centre
An 'independent' organisation maintaining its own website with information
about current issues and developments in the EU.
EUROPA - The Official Website of the
European Union
The official site of the EU, a vast amount of material is contained here.
European
Union Studies Association (EUSA)
Founded in 1988, EUSA (formerly know as the European Community Studies
Association) is the premier scholarly and professional association worldwide
focusing on the European Union.
European Voice
Much of this site is by subscription only (and expensive too!), but some of
the headline information is openly available and is of good quality.
University of Essex - 'Euroweb'
The University of Essex has longstanding relationships with other European
Higher Education establishments. There exists a wide portfolio of courses
that are of a European nature, or which involve a period of study at another
European institution. The University is also actively involved with a large
number of research projects on European matters and themes.
Science
& Technology Policy Research Unit
The site is dedicated to research projects undertaken on behalf of the
European Commission by a network of European academic institutions. To this
end, the information available in these pages will focus on the policy
issues that have an impact on scientific research today.
UK
Foreign & Commonwealth Office
Part of the UK Foreign Office site is dedicated to looking at the UK/EU
relationship. Often contains speeches and other materials relating to
current developments
University Association for Contemporary
European Studies (UACES)
UACES brings together academics involved in researching Europe with
practitioners active in European affairs. It provides a forum for debate, a
clearing house for information about European studies, and is itself
directly involved in promoting research and establishing research networks.
It is the primary organisation for British academics researching the
European Union.
