Degree Schemes
PEI continues to offer the 4-year undergraduate degree schemes,
developed by the former Centres for Russian and European
Studies, which include a year abroad and intensive language
tuition.
At the postgraduate level, PEI offers:
- The MA in European Integration
Distance Learning
PEI takes a keen interest in the possibilities for distance
teaching and learning offered by video conferencing technology.
Innovative pilot projects are already in progress in the UK,
linking campuses as far apart as Aberystwyth, Essex, Exeter and
London. In the future, it is hoped that the expertise developed
through such projects can be deployed in Eastern Europe and the
FSU.
Teaching Links with Russia
PEI is engaged in a number of teaching links within its areas of
interest. Examples are:
- Teaching of European human rights law in Budapest, Moscow
and Almaty (Kazakstan);
- Teaching of commercial law in Macedonia and Russia;
- The possibility for Moscow institutions to send junior
academic staff for further training at Essex;
- The provision of joint degree schemes with Russian and
other institutions.
