Entry requirements
MSc
Entry requirement for the MSc in
Computational Finance is a 2.1 or first class Bachelors degree in
Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Quantitative
Economics/Finance.
Entry requirement for the MSc in
High-Frequency Finance and Trading is a 2.1 or first class Bachelors degree
in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or
Quantitative Economics/Finance. Knowledge of C++ or Java programming is
desirable.
Entry to the MSc
Financial Software Engineering requires applicants to have a 2.1 or
distinction first degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a BSc which
provides a high level of programming expertise in languages such as in C++, JAVA
and/or .NET.
PhD
Entry to our PhD programme in
Computational Finance requires applicants to have a Masters degree at
distinction level in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics,
Mathematics or Quantitative Economics/Finance.
Non-UK applications
Non-UK applications whose native language is not English may be required to
take either TOEFL or IELTS English test. In the case of TOEFL
qualification the candidate must have a minimum of 76 in the internet-based
test. In the case of IELTS the candidate must achieve an overall average
score of at least 6 with a minimum of 5.5 in any given component.
Students from India with an English Medium university education can be
exempted from English language requirement. Also applicants who have work
experience in an English language environment or who have authored research or
work reports may also be made exempt from English language requirements.
