prospective students
Welcome
CCFEA attracts high calibre and creative students from quantitative disciplines
(for example Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or
Quantitative Economics/Finance). Students enjoy an intellectually challenging
and socially vibrant atmosphere, where they receive practical hands-on
instruction with a focus on problem solving skills that equip them for high
flying careers.
The duration of our schemes is one year which consists of taught modules for the
first two semesters followed by a dissertation in the Summer. Our taught courses
are highly practical and involve both lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions
in which students have the opportunity to analyse and model real-world financial
data.
Each of our schemes is highly cross-disciplinary and involves some elements of
programming, statistics and mathematics with the particular emphasis depending
on the scheme chosen. However, we do not assume that students have prior formal
training in Finance or Economics, and have in the past offered an optional pre-sessional
course which provides all the required foundational material. We expect to
continue with this option programme in 2013, dates and costs to be announced in
the near future.
