We make it possible for you to undertake study abroad, either during your Essex
course or by attending Essex whilst you are studying elsewhere. You will
find study abroad extremely worthwhile and enjoyable, both socially
Essex is one of the UK's most internationally diverse campus universities
with students drawn from more than 130 countries. We have helped hundreds of
students to study or work abroad as part of their course.

With help from the University's Essex Abroad
office we encourage all our students to add an international dimension to their
studies and career plans.
- Study Abroad: short-term, one-term or year-long
exchange studies at a partner university, which provide academic credit
towards your Essex degree.
- Work Abroad: undertake a period of industry-based
work placement abroad, for credit towards your Essex degree. This
includes Teach Abroad for language assistants.
- Volunteer Abroad: opportunities to spend a period
of community development-oriented work abroad.
- Research Abroad: undertake a period of research or
project work, based either in a research lab/group or in the field, with
supervision from a host organisation approved by Essex.
