Your focus will no doubt be on exams or your dissertation this term but this is still a key time
to be proactive in your preparation for the working world, whatever your year of study. Make the most of the
Employability and Careers Centre support whilst you’re still here. Here’s a sample of employability sessions
happening this term:
- Graduation: What Next? 9 June and 10 June. Intensive two day event
which focuses on how to decide on a career, drawing up a career plan and how to put that career plan into action,
a must for students graduating this summer who need direction. Booking opens 28 April.
- Internships and Vacation Opportunities: Essex Interns - how to apply for paid local internships, Effective
Applications for Frontrunners
- Exploring your personality and career choice - The Myers Briggs Type Indicator questionnaire is used in
organisations world-wide as part of personal and career development programmes
- Job hunting sessions include CV basics, LinkedIn Labs and Effective Applications and Interviews for postgraduate students
Look out for any career sessions offered by your Department, Faculty or Student Society too.
