Events

We offer events throughout the year, focusing on key job hunting skills and providing insights into popular graduate careers, such as careers fairs and other opportunities to meet employers. Our What's On Guide for this Autumn term is now available.

You need to book your place in advance for any of our events. Booking opens two weeks before each event, unless otherwise stated.

Autumn is a very busy term for you and for recruiters. Some of the larger graduate recruiters have closing dates even as early as November. For that reason, the careers calendar is especially packed this term. Our high profile employer and information events this Autumn term are:

There are also many other employability sessions designed to help you to decide what you want to do next, gather information about options, provide suggestions on how you gain experience and equip you to make effective applications.

Make the most of events now – some may not recur later in the year.

Some of the upcoming autumn events

  • Interactive taster sessions with the Civil Service, the Bank of England and Institute of Chartered Accountants – great opportunities to find out about a career area and add experience to your CV. Open to all degree discipline students.
  • Working in Charities presented by Diabetes UK, demonstrating how many career roles and opportunities exist within the 'Third Sector'.
  • Bloomberg Assessment Tests – find out if you have a real interest in finance and submit your results to over 2,000 finance-related employers in their talent search.
  • Job hunting sessions on applications and job interviews, CV basics and Linked In labs. Largest graduate recruiter for 2013, TeachFirst, will deliver their excellent session on job interviews.

Make sure you also sign up for any career sessions taking place in your department, faculty or subject-related student society.
