The Business Incubation Centre is made up of 20 units varying in size and shape. The units are suitable for office based functions and are available to let to start up and growing companies. The BIC supports the Hub in achieving its aim of helping businesses to increase their chances of sustainability and this is achieved by providing an environment that is conducive to their growth and development during the early stages of their lifecycle.

Businesses will benefit from purpose-built office accommodation in a prestigious location, a variety of modern and innovative facilities, a network of other start-up companies, and support and guidance from business development experts and academics specialising in entrepreneurship and innovation.

As with most BICs, the facility at Southend provides easy in/out tenancy agreements and inclusive rents that cover:

• Business rates
• Energy costs
• Staffed reception desk
• Access to telephones and Internet provision
• 3.5 hours free meeting room hire per month
• 25% discount on conference and meeting room hire
