Current research

Adaptation, acclimation and regulation of phytoplankton including the development of quantitative phytoplankton growth models, experimental studies of photosynthesis, calcification and nitrogen fixation in cyanobacteria and algae, and oceanographic research involving both surveys and process studies..Coastal and open ocean primary production including nutrient limitation (N, P, Fe) of primary productivity and nitrogen fixation, and biophysical assessment of primary productivity.
