PhD Opportunities

The Marine Sciences Group is involved with a number of PhDs covering a wide range of topics. Although students are permitted to self-fund their research towards a PhD, many within Marine Sciences have been awarded funded scholarships from a variety of sources, including the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). Below are some examples of funded PhD titles which have been awarded to students at the University of Essex in recent years.
