Research into copepod infochemistry is carried out in laboratories in the Netherlands. This project is coordinated and carried out by Dr. Steinke, along with his research students.

PROTOOL: Automated Tools to Measure Primary Productivity in European Seas.
As a partner within the European Framework 7 funded project "PROTOOL", work will be conducted to investigate the coupling between fluorescence-based carbon bad measures of productivity for key phytoplankton within the European shelf seas Work will include both laboratory growth of cultured algae at Essex but also field work on natural phytoplankton populations in the North Sea, Baltic Sea and Mediterranean.
