The Greek Aegean Islands
Since 2000, the Marine Sciences research group having been working in collaboration with the Institute of Marine Environmental research of the Aegean Sea (IMERAS) and an NGO called Archipelago to raise the scientific understanding as well as the profile of central eastern Aegean islands. Research work has been primarily focused on characterising marine habitats, identifying threats whilst collecting data and producing management plans for a new marine protected area. Therefore the majority of the collaborative work can be centred around one theme:
