                    Leverhulme International Academic Collaboration

                       Molecular Biology of Emiliania huxleyi

The Leverhulme Trust funded project is an international collaboration between three academic institutions:

The purpose of the network will be to provide the three participating groups access to experience and technologies not available in their own institutions.  The collaboration will allow a comprehensive analysis of Emiliania huxleyi to be undertaken from the molecular to the ecophysiological level.

The overall aim of this network is to identify changes in gene expression that occur in response to environmental fluctuations in the coccolithophore, E. huxleyi, in order to elucidate the mechanisms and underlying adaptation and acclimation to the   natural environment.
