Social Events

The Halophiles congress has traditionally provided a friendly and open forum for discussing and advancing new and exciting scientific ideas, and for establishing long-lasting collaborations, both through the formal proceedings, and importantly by enjoying the locality, its customs and cuisine. This will be facilitated by the relaxed atmosphere of the University of Essex campus, together with social events, such as the opening and closing receptions, the gala dinner on Wednesday evening at Wivenhoe House Marquee (picture below), followed by traditional Gaelic folk dancing (Ceilidh), and a visit on Tuesday afternoon/evening to the historic city of Cambridge
