Talks

Uploading

It is preferred that you use the computer in the lecture theatre (LTB-8) rather your your own laptop. Talks should up-loaded onto this computer with the aid of our AV staff no later than the interval preceding the session. Please preview your talk in LTB-8. Please bring your powerpoint presentations on a CD or USB stick (remembering to have back-ups). Please name your file ‘Surname-halophiles.ppt’ If you are organised then you can email your talk to conferences@essex.ac.uk by 12 noon on Friday 31st August; however, don’t rely on this, and always bring a back-up file. Anyone bringing their own laptop should be advised to bring a back-up of their presentation on CD Rom or USB memory stick in case of compatibility issues.  Speakers wishing to bring their own laptops should ensure they bring the relevant VGA leads.  All speakers who bring their own laptops should notify us of the model they are bringing, failure to do so could result in the equipment not being compatible with the University AV equipment.

Timing

Please keep your presentations to the allotted time including ~ 5 minutes for discussion, e.g. if you have a 30-minute time slot, then please talk for no more than 25 minutes.
