Ecological monitoring

UK and EU legislation often requires ongoing monitoring to be undertaken on development sites, protected areas, rivers, estuaries, coastal and terrestrial habitats.

Monitoring programme design

EUREKA scientists can design and implement tailor made monitoring programmes to meet your needs, whether they be environmental, water quality or ecological. We have experience implementing water quality monitoring programmes in marine, freshwater and transitional (estuarine) systems, coral reef monitoring programmes and terrestrial post-development/ translocation monitoring of species populations.

Implementation

Our staff scientists can either undertake the monitoring and provide high quality reports with non-technical summaries, or we can train your own staff and volunteers to undertake the monitoring once a programme has been designed.

Data analysis and interpretation

We can also analyse the (often large) data sets generated from monitoring programmes and provide advice about their interpretation and propose suitable management actions. See the Data analysis page for more information.
