Welcome to befit4work
Befit4work is the University of Essex initiative that aims to encourage staff
and students to improve their general health and wellbeing by taking part in
co-ordinated wellbeing events and activities.
Befit4work is part of the wider Wellbeing agenda at Essex
and events are co-ordinated and publicised by members of staff from across the
University who form the
Wellbeing Group.
NHS Health Checks
The NHS Health Checks have now finished.
Some 497 members of University staff aged 40 to 74 took up the chance to have a
free NHS Health Check form January to March 2011. The checks aim to help prevent
heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease and were funded by NHS North
East Essex. Further information about NHS Health Checks is on the
