Booking

How do I book equipment?

First we recommend that you visit the room in advance and make yourself comfortable with the setting and equipment. If then you realise you need some other equipment please either book online or email, with a 24hrs (office time) notice in advance.

How much does it cost to borrow equipment from you?

We do not charge for borrowing equipment for internal events and academic use. But be aware that you might still be liable for any loss or damage to the equipment and accessories, so it is your responsibility to look after the equipment and do not leave it unattended in the room.

Will you come to set up the equipment for me and collect it later?

We expect people to be independent using AV equipment, so we recommend that you attend our AV training sessions as we don't set up equipment for you. If you have any problem after you setup the equipment then we could help you, but we can't promise that our staff will be available when you need them.

If you have a problem carrying the equipment then please make arrangements with your department for assistance.

Will you deliver my booking to the room?

We do not deliver equipment to rooms, except such as bulky items, TV rigs and over head projectors (traditional OHP).

Is my booking confirmed if I don't get email reply?

We will reply within 24 hours office time, but emails could be missing or misread so please contact us again if you haven't heard from us.

Be aware that if the "Subject" of your email is blank you have a high chance that your email will be filtered out as SPAM, so please fill it in with reasonable information.

AV rooms

How do I know what equipment is available in a room?

We recommend that you visit the room in advance and make yourself comfortable with the equipment and settings. It is your responsibility to be able to deliver your lecture to students.

What to do if the equipment is faulty?

If during your lecture you find any equipment faulty please give us a call (01206 87) #3220 by either internal phones available in most of the corridors or by using your own mobile.

If you can continue your lecture without the faulty item then please contact us once your lecture has ended, by email with as much information as you can (time, visual problem and other factors you may consider).
