Personal Response System (PRS)

PRS allows you to enhance your lectures by making them more interactive. You can vote, answer multiple choice or short answer open questions, generate discussion and use the the technology to assess learning and understanding on the fly and monitor attendance.

PRS Equipment is available for loan to staff who have received training. Initially, two weeks notice is required - to give you time to practice with the equipment. This notice period will continue to be requested until you are confident your presentations will work and you do not need to practice.

AVS Technicians should be only contacted if you experience a hardware problem, (e.g. connecting the equipment or hub not responding), otherwise please contact the Web and Learning Technology Team, Learning and Teaching Unit (walt).

New electrically height adjustable AV lectern

A new AV lectern is being deployed at Colchester campus.

This AV lectern is electrically height adjustable so users can electrically rise or lower to accommodate different situations.

Digital recording of lectures

AVMS is running a pilot digital recording system. We expect to be able to offer a full system for the next academic year 2010-11

For the benefit of recording please speak at the front area of the room, where the microphones are.

Interactive Whiteboards on campus (IWB)

AVMS has installed a number of IWB at Colchester Campus.
