Equipment Loan at Colchester campus

AVMS has a number of portable cassette tape players & recorders that students can borrow for the whole academic year.

Please, before recording any lecture or event ask for permission from the speaker.

Students may be allowed to borrow some AV equipment for their projects and presentations but they will need a signature from their tutor or supervisor to sign the equipment out. All bookings are only for a short period of time, under 3 days.

Equipment loan for Students' Societies

AVMS provide support to Societies through the Students Union. In order to use the AV cabinet you need to sign out an AV key from the SU office. AVMS won't provide AV keys to students. If you need training on using the AV equipment then please contact us.

If you are preparing an event that you may need equipment that is not covered by the AV room then please contact us by email well in advance to avoid dissapointment.

We remind you that only legal DVDs are allowed to play. Do not make copies, as you don't have copyrights, and do not play illegally downloaded movies. If you are not sure please ask before using it, a large fine, possible jail time, and a criminal record could happen, added to being expelled from the University.

How to borrow an audio cassette tape player & recorder

Students who wish to borrow an audio cassette tape player & recorder need to come to the AVS Service Desk in the LTB Foyer and fill out a form.

A Student Identity Card is required and a £10.00 deposit that will be returned at the end of the period once the equipment has been returned.

It can be borrowed for a whole academic year and be renewed at our Service Desk.

We can supply C-120 tapes at reasonable pricing. New and second hand tapes (at good condition) are available.
