Colchester Arts Organisations
Colchester has a rapidly expanding contemporary visual arts scene:
Firstsite is a visual arts
organisation pioneering new models of display and education which is to move to
a new £15m building in Colchester in 2008. The Department works closely with
Firstsite, and several former PhD and MA students are now employed by them as
they expand in readiness for the move to the exciting new building.
Colchester Arts Centre is a
vibrant centre for music, comedy, theatre and live art.
The University Gallery
The
University Gallery acts as the focus for the promotion of the visual arts
on campus. Six major exhibitions (including one or more organised by our MA
Gallery Studies students) are scheduled each year. Student participation is
encouraged at every stage of the programming.
Arts on 5's Exhibitions schedule
