International Students

Over the past 40 years, Art History has welcomed students from at least as many countries, thus contributing to the internationalism and cultural diversity which are among the distinctive features of the University as a whole.

We have been ‘home’ to visitors from Canada and the United States, from Central and South America, from Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China, from Singapore and Malaysia and from all the Western European countries including, of course, the UK.

Overseas students who are following semester-based degree programmes can spend a whole academic year at Essex or just one semester: autumn (October – December) or spring (from January onwards).

The marks you are awarded will be translated into scores or grades accepted your own university, and we can also provide a grade transcript or record of achievement, reflecting your academic performance during your time at Essex.
