10 September 2007: Book Prize for Professor Jules Lubbock

Professor Jules Lubbock has been awarded the 2007 Art and Christian Enquiry/Mercers' International Book Award for his book, Storytelling in Christian Art from Giotto to Donatello published in 2006. The £3000 prize is awarded to the book which makes an outstanding contribution to the dialogue between religious faith and the visual arts.

The prize is awarded every two years and Marina Warner, Eamon Duffy, author of Stripping the Altars and Tim Marlow who presents art programmes on Channel 5 were amongst the judges. The book, which shows how Renaissance artists portrayed biblical events, attracted much critical acclaim.
