Work in Progress Seminar 1

Mapping Connections

Thursday 30th April 2009, University of Essex

The first of three "Work in Progress Seminars" took place on 30th April at the University of Essex. The event was an opportunity for the project researchers to discuss their current research and to place their case study investigations within the context of broader themes.

The specific theme of the seminar was "Mapping Connections" reflecting an interest in the first phase of the research to map consistent geographical encounters and significant overlaps between European and Latin American spheres.

Valerie Fraser, María Iñigo Clavo, Michael Asbury and Isobel Whitelegg each gave a presentation about their case studies to an invited panel, including three of the project's External Advisors, Dawn Ades, Oriana Baddeley, and Guy Brett, TrAIN Visiting Fellow Moacir Dos Anjos, and joint University of Essex and Tate PhD candidate Susannah Gilbert.
