O imigrante português no Brasil: figurações e configurações da identidade cultural

Resumo
A situação específica do imigrante, assim como a do exilado, concorre para a formação de figurações e configurações múltiplas de identidade causadas pela busca do sentido de pertencimento e pela tentativa de recuperar o que Marc Augé denomina “lugar antropológico”.      Este ensaio pretende analisar o processo de formação e representação da identidade cultural do imigrante, bem como o papel da literatura na construção do “locus” identitário.      Abordaremos, igualmente, as estratégias de exclusão e inclusão e a formação de estereótipos, focalizando especificamente o fenômeno da transculturação em um panorama que envolve a coexistência do discurso imperialista e a experiência contemporânea da transnacionalidade.

Abstract
The specific condition of the immigrant, as well as that of the exiled, contributes for either the formation of multiple identity constructions and representations due to the search for a sense of belonging and for the attempt to recover what Marc Augé has called anthropological place. This essay aims at an analysis of the process of formation and representation of the cultural identity of the Portuguese immigrant in Brazil, as well as the role of literature in the construction of the identitary “locus”. Similarly, it is our objective to deal with the strategies of exclusion and inclusion and the creation of stereotypes, focusing specifically on the phenomenon of transculturation within a panorama that involves either the co-existence of an imperialist discourse and the contemporary experience of transnationality.
