agree to:
• reduce energy consumption by making use of the thermostatic valves
on the radiator or by following the guidelines for use of storage
heaters
• turn off lights and appliances when leaving my room
• use water efficiently by not leaving taps running and ensuring
taps are fully closed after use
• recycle waste by sorting my waste and taking to the appropriate
bin by the residence
• ensure that I do not create litter around the campus
• be sensitive to the impact on others when playing music and
enjoying myself
and we agree to:
• use cleaning materials and methods that minimise environmental
impact
• maximize the amount of waste from the residences that is recycled
• consider sustainability issues when sourcing new products,
furniture, fixtures and fittings and disposing of redundant items
• ensure low energy light bulbs are used in the residences
• build new residences to achieve BREEAM rating ‘excellent’
