Room allocations
Wherever possible we will try to give you your first choice
of accommodation but this is not guaranteed. The rents for each type of
accommodation are shown below along with information about the Endsleigh
Insurance scheme for students of Essex University.
Accommodation from the end of your pre-sessional course to
academic year start
We will be accommodating you for the duration of your
pre-sessional course, however, you will need to move out of university
accommodation at the end of your course - dates below:

If you have been offered accommodation for next academic
year you may wish to remain in University Accommodation until your new allocation
starts for the next academic year. The procedure for room allocation during this period will be given to
you nearer the time. We will begin the process of moving you into your term time
accommodation prior to the end of your pre-sessional course.

Facilities in the Residences
In the kitchen you will need to bring your own cooking utensils,
crockery and cutlery, saucepans and frying pans. In the room you
will need to bring all your own towels and bedding. You can, if you
wish, pre-order all the essential items that you will need in
your study-room before you even leave home.

to ensure you quickly settle in your university accommodation;
alternatively you can create your own individually tailored pack.

Insurance
The University has arranged a block halls policy for all students
in university owned accommodation to insure their personal effects.
There is no additional charge for the standard insurance cover
provided. However if you need to increase your level of cover or
purchase additional cover for specific items not included in the
standard policy this can be done through Endsleigh Insurance services directly. Further details including a summary of the standard cover provided by the block

Terms and conditions of Residence and University Residence
Regulations
Terms and conditions of your tenancy can be found in the
Terms and Conditions of Residence and
University Residence Regulations. When you sign for your keys you will be
signing a legally binding contract which is based in English law. Please take
time to read the Terms and Conditions of Residence and University Residence
Regulations before applying for accommodation which
contains the terms and conditions of the contract.
Enquires
We try to allocate Pre-sessional students approximately two or three weeks
prior to the start of the course and will email your allocation address to you
at this time to assist you with your travel arrangements.
