Show Flats Scheme

On your accommodation application form you will have the opportunity to agree to take part in the
University Show Flat scheme, being part of a network of show flats within
accommodation that are available for viewing on visit days (approximately 15
afternoons during the academic year) and for adhoc pre-arranged tours depending
on your availability.
what’s involved?
- You will need to be available to assist the student
ambassadors in showing the communal areas of the flat and a room between the stated hours
(12.00 till 16.00)
on scheduled visit days.
- These duties can, therefore, be shared between the flat
mates so you will not have to be available for all of the scheduled visit days
and the additional unscheduled visit days are voluntary and earn the
participant extra additional vouchers to spend.
- The accommodation office will email out invitations to take part in the
additional tours giving full details of the date and time of the expected
tour. Allocation of the additional tours will be on a first come first served
basis.
- All residents will be expected to keep the flat in a state of reasonable
cleanliness and tidiness in order to continue within the scheme to allow
for the additional visits that may occur.
What do I get?
- At the end of the scheme each participating flat will receive a selection
of vouchers for the participating students within the flat to spend as they wish in return for being
representatives for accommodation and promoting the University.
- Individuals within the show flats will be able to volunteer for additional
small group and large group tours for which External Relations will give an
additional voucher payment of between £5 and £10.
