What we offer
We offer a range of accommodation to suit a variety of
needs, preferences and budgets, all within walking distance of the academic
departments and campus facilities. We also have
adapted rooms available.
Our accommodation has won a number of awards in the
National Student Housing Survey, coming first in 2009 and second in 2010
and 2011. Last year we were one of only five institutions to be awarded the
International Accommodation Quality Mark for achieving at least 90 per cent
satisfaction among students.

Colchester accommodation
All our single accommodation is arranged into self-catering flats with fully
equipped shared kitchen facilities. We offer the choice of study
bedrooms with en suite facilities, or rooms with shared bathrooms. Use our interactive 360 degree tour of the Colchester Campus to see inside our accommodation residences.

Southend accommodation
University Square is arranged into flats
with shared kitchens, with all rooms having en suite bathrooms. In addition we

Further information
When applying for your accommodation you will have the option to select a
single gender flat.
All of our University accommodation will be non-smoking from the 2013-14 academic year. Proposals were agreed by the
University Steering Group (USG) recently to make our
accommodation smoke free and to offer alternative facilities for students who wish to smoke.
