Accessibility Statement

Resource formats

These materials have been produced containing a number of resource formats. The core of the content for the Accessibility Essentials has been produced in XHTML format in an effort to achieve maximum accessibility. Also contained within these materials are Microsoft
®
Word documents, Rich Text Files and Macromedia
®
Flash Animations. Where appropriate, alternative formats are provided and these can be accessed from the bottom of the side menu bar.

Microsoft
®
Word documents and Rich Text Files have been produced in an effort to provide an easily available print version of the information provided. We also recognise that these forms are one of most commonly accessed by screen reader users. Also contained within this resource are a number of Macromedia
®
Flash animations. These animations have been produced to provide a graphical representation of the step-by-step instructions provided by the XHTML pages. All animations have been produced with an audio voice over describing the process being shown in the animation. These animations have been designed to add value for users who prefer visually oriented information. This format is unsuitable for a screen reader user, but the XHTML pages have all the information presented in a textual format. However, please note the audio instructions embedded within the animations may be relevant.
