Disability Statement
Introduction
The University of Essex, in conformity with its
Charter, is committed to a comprehensive
equality policy and strategy and welcomes
disabled students. The University
aims to offer academic support in response to individual needs, and
strives to ensure that the buildings are physically accessible. We
have experience of supporting students who have mobility
difficulties, students who use personal assistants, as well as blind
and partially sighted students, students who are deaf or hard of
hearing, students with a specific learning difficulty such as
dyslexia, students with mental health issues as well as students
with hidden disabilities, medical conditions and temporary injuries. The University publishes information on the
