The Academic Section, headed by the Academic Registrar, provides a wide range of
services to students and departments to support the academic provision of the University.
The Academic Section comprises the Academic Services and Student Life directorates, reflecting the
dual priorities of supporting the delivery of programmes in academic departments as well as providing
student-facing services to ensure they achieve their potential. The main offices of Academic Services
are Student Administration and Policy and Quality and Development. Student Life
comprises Student Support,
Employability and Careers and Student Engagement.
The Academic Registrar is also the authorising officer for Tier 4 visa compliance.
The section is in the process of reorganisation to refocus around the needs of students
and academic staff and meet the University’s strategic objectives. This process is currently being
embedded in Academic Services and in progress in Student Life so there may be minor errors to the
webpages while adjustments are made.
