Our Loughton Campus is based around Hatfields, a beautiful Georgian dower house, set in six acres of lawns, with orchards, flowerbeds and a small lake. The location provides an idyllic atmosphere for study, relaxation and performance. The campus is also close to the ancient Epping Forest - which offers further opportunities for outdoor activities.

Our courses

We offer dynamic and unique courses for actors, directors, technical theatre specialists and students of theatre practice. We carefully select, teach and train students from the UK and from over 26 countries worldwide.

Our facilities

Recording studio

The Courtyard Studios consists of six large rehearsal spaces, a radio studio and a screening room, and the Dance Studio has first-class facilities for ballet, jazz and other movement work.

Corbett Theatre

Hatfields is also home to the Corbett Theatre, named in honour of Harry H Corbett, an important Theatre Workshop member and early benefactor of East 15. Combined with full technical facilities, tiered seating for 125 people and fitted dressing rooms, the theatre provides an excellent resource for public productions.

Roding House and the Costume Department

Just a five-minute walk from Hatfields is Roding House, a £1.3 million facility with ten rehearsal rooms, a green room/cafe and sound recording studio. The extensive costume department is also based here.

Unit Four

Unit Four is home to the Stage and Production Management course and is situated in its own £1.5 million facility, next to Roding House. It houses the large technical department and contains a workshop, paint shop, prop shop, prop storage facilities and teaching spaces.
