You can get to our Colchester Campus by bicycle, bus or car. There are regular coach connections from Stansted Airport to the University. Information is
also available for

Bicycle
You can cycle to our Colchester Campus easily from Colchester and Wivenhoe
and there is plenty of bicycle parking. There are cycle routes off Boundary Road
and Valley Road which let you park your bike at either end of campus. There is
also a cycle route linking the University to the riverside trail between
Wivenhoe and Colchester.

Bus
You can catch buses to our Colchester Campus from the town centre and the
train station. The main University bus stop is at the Valley Road junction, near
Square One, there are other stops for North Towers and South Courts.
The University is served by the following buses:
- From Colchester North Station (Forecourt): 61, 62, 74/74B, 76, 78,
Combined frequency: every 10 minutes weekdays during the day,
3-4 per hour weekday evenings. Weekends less frequent.
- From Colchester Town Centre (High Street stops V and Z): 61, 62, 74/74B, 76,
78, 78X. Combined frequency: 8 per hour weekdays during the day, 3-4 per hour
weekday evenings. Weekends less frequent.
Depending on the time of day, you should allow 20 to 30 minutes for
travelling by bus from Colchester town centre to the University, and 45 minutes
when travelling from Colchester rail station to the University.
There are also frequent buses between the University and Wivenhoe, and two
buses per hour to Clacton.

Cedrics. Please remember that return tickets purchased on Cedrics routes
cannot be used First buses.

Car
If you are driving to our Colchester Campus from London and the South via the
A12, take the exit marked Colchester (A133). SAT NAV directions to the
University using our postcode can be misleading therefore, it is recommended to
follow roadside directional sign posts to the University.
If you are driving from Ipswich and the North on the A12, take the exit
marked Colchester.
From Colchester, the University is off the A133 to Clacton.
A
pay and display system is in operation at our Colchester Campus. Please
display a valid Pay and Display ticket inside your car when you are parking.
Unfortunately if you fail to do so you may receive a Parking Fine. Further

Taxi
A taxi from Colchester Rail Station to the University normally takes about 10-15 minutes outside rush hour. You can also find a taxi rank on Colchester High Street near the Red Lion Hotel.

Colchester-based company.
VP Cars are another taxi company in
Colchester (telephone 01206 825001/07881422967, e-mail

Airport Express
(telephone 01206 251122 /
AirportExpressCars.co.uk) provide airport transfers to and from the
University. They also offer transportation to sea ports and Eurostar train
stations. Please Note: the company does not offer local taxi services. For

Train
Trains run between London Liverpool Street and Colchester station
approximately every 10 to 20 minutes. The journey takes around an hour. Train
services from Colchester also run to Norwich, Ipswich, Felixstowe and Harwich.
Local bus and taxi services connect Colchester station to the University. (Note:
Colchester has three stations - these directions refer to the main station
(North) and not Colchester Town or Hythe.)
Some trains from London Liverpool Street also stop at Wivenhoe Station. If
you are travelling from the Clacton/Walton direction, alight at Wivenhoe or
Hythe Stations and use the local bus and taxi service to travel to the
University.

Airports
If you are flying into Stansted Airport – London's third international
airport you can get to our Colchester Campus by car or taxi in around 45 minutes
via the A120 and A12. You can also take the
133 coach service from Stansted
Airport direct to the Colchester Campus.
International Ports
The University is only 30 minutes by road from the port of Harwich. If
travelling by car from Harwich follow the A120 to Colchester. If travelling by
train get off at Colchester station.

Coach
There are three coaches each day to/from London direct to the University
(Valley Road stops). If you are travelling from other areas in the country, you
need to change at Victoria Coach Station in London.
