offers further opportunities for outdoor activities.

and a screening room, the Orchard Studios provides three additional rehearsal

plays and voiceover work, while a Screening Room is used for screening both DVD
and VHS on a large screen, with stereo speakers. This is used for lecturing,
guest speakers and for screening films produced at East 15. There are also

Corbett Theatre
Hatfields is also home to the Corbett Theatre, named in honour of Harry H
Corbett, an important Theatre Workshop member and early benefactor of East 15.
The building is a medieval tithe barn that was dismantled and transported to
Hatfields in the 1960s. Its unusual origins create a unique performance space
with a special atmosphere. Combined with full technical facilities, tiered
seating for 125 people and fitted dressing rooms, the theatre provides an
excellent resource for public productions. Lectures, rehearsals and technical
classes also take place here, while the adjacent and newly extended Theatre
Foyer Bar and Cafe provides a social meeting point for students and staff.
Computing and library facilities
Computer rooms are based at Hatfields with additional computer facilities at
Roding House and at the Technical Unit. Facilities include computers, internet
access, printers and photocopiers. In addition there is a new and growing
library within Hatfields House and students can also use the Colchester Campus
library, which has holdings amounting to over one million books, periodical
issues and microfilms, including 7,300 current periodicals.
Roding House and the Costume Department
Just a five-minute walk from Hatfields is Roding House, a new £1.3 million
facility with ten rehearsal rooms, a green room/cafe and sound recording studio.
The extensive costume department is also based here.
Unit Four
Unit Four is home to the Technical Theatre course and is situated in it's own
£1.5 million facility, next to Roding House. It houses the large technical
department and contains a workshop, paint shop, prop shop, prop storage
facilities and teaching spaces.
