UniCard - discounted travel in the Colchester
area
UniCard is a heavily discounted annual season ticket offered by First
Essex Buses to both students and staff for travel within the Colchester
area, including to the University's Colchester campus.
Fares and zones
There are two zones; zone 1 for Colchester and the local area, stretching
from Tollgate Sainsbury's on the west side of the town to Wivenhoe on the
east side, and a wider zone 2 which reaches out to include Clacton and Marks

The discounted UniCard provides unlimited bus travel in the
Colchester area. The zone 1 card was previously on sale at a cost of
£370 for the year, but the Students' Union has secured a deal that will
see the zone 1 UniCard available to University of Essex staff and
students for just £139, representing an incredible saving of £241!
