We are located in beautiful parkland just outside Colchester – famous as
Britain's oldest recorded town and former Roman capital.
The picturesque village of Wivenhoe is also less than a mile away. The
village has a lively quayside and a variety of pubs and restaurants, making
it a popular choice for students living off campus in their second and final
years.
Colchester
Colchester is an exciting and modern town with a thriving cultural, arts
and entertainment scene including music venues, theatres, a cinema and art
galleries. It is popular for shopping, with a mixture of large department
stores and smaller individual shops.
There is also a huge range of restaurants, coffee houses, wine bars, pubs
and nightclubs.

Restaurants and nightlife
Colchester has a range of places to eat, ranging from national chains to
independent restaurants. The choice of restaurants include Italian, Chinese,
Indian, Spanish, Portuguese and Greek.
If you are going out there are a whole range of places to meet friends
for drinks from cosy, traditional pubs through to stylish bars.

Gateway to East Anglia and Constable Country
Colchester is the gateway to the beautiful countryside and coastline of
East Anglia. The seaside resorts of Frinton, Clacton and Walton are nearby
and our Colchester Campus is on the edge of 'Constable Country', the rural
areas around Dedham and Flatford made famous by the artist John Constable.
Quick transport links
Colchester is served by excellent transport links with the A12 running
into London and trains into the City typically taking less than an hour.
Stansted Airport and Harwich International Port are also easily accessible.
