Trainers
Consultants for the Business and Management Training Centre programme are specialists who are also practitioners
in their fields, ensuring that all our courses are relevant and
up-to-date.
Anne Argent is a Lecturer in Law
based in the Essex Business School at the University of Essex.
Anne has also taught law at Chelmsford College, Anglia Law School and
the University of Cambridge. She has an LL.B. (Hons.) degree, an
LL.M. degree in European Union Law and a post-graduate diploma in Legal
Practice (solicitors professional examinations). Anne specialised
in Employment Law throughout her legal studies particularly the LL.M.
for which she was awarded a distinction. She also has several
years' experience in lecturing on Employment Law issues. Anne
worked in the financial sector, primarily banking - both in the U.K. and
abroad for several years before embarking on a legal career.
Charles Ash is an
independent business consultant and trainer with a background in
business planning consultancy, project management, project contract and
employment law. Charles is a member of the International Confederation
for Business Advancement (ICFBA) and is experienced in providing
business advice and consultancy, generally to SMEs, along with the
provision of training which aligns with his core disciplines. Charles
has a BSC in Mechanical Engineering to support his training credentials.
Nicole Bachmann is a masterful coach
and facilitator with a strategic business background and a law degree.
Nicole specialises in the personal development of high flying business
people who are looking to play a bigger game, facilitating learning of
individuals and groups, as well as training business people in personal
development, business communication and leadership skills. Nicole is the
founder of Brook & Mann, specialists in Confident Communication for
Pro-active Professionals, the co-founder of
www.beatprocrastination.com, a Networking Strategist with Magic of
Networking. She is a Fellow of the Institute for Independent Business, a
Founding Member of the International Association of Coaches, a
motivational speaker much in demand and an active member of various
networking organisations.
Hilary Briggs is a management consultant,
specialising in the development and implementation of strategic plans
for small and medium-sized enterprises. She has 20 years of industrial
experience and has held senior management positions within production
management, logistics, product marketing and general management. She
trained as a Senior Consultant in Nancy Kline’s “The Thinking
EnvironmentTM” and years at the sharp end in the auto
industry taught her how to turn on her own creativity. Hilary has an MA
(Cantab) in Manufacturing Engineering, and an MSc in Manufacturing
Systems Engineering.
Denise Collins BSc (Hons)
is an experienced and skilled specialist NLP and soft skills training
consultant and therapeutic coach. Denise is founder of The Humming Bird
Effect (incorporating Know More Training) a personal and professional
development approach and has worked with a range of individuals and
organisations providing training and coaching. She was trained and
certified as a NLP trainer by Dr John Grinder, Co-founder of Neuro
Linguistic Programming, and is registered with The Association for Neuro
Linguistic Programming (ANLP) International as accredited trainer.
Jeff Della Mura is an
active marketing professional with a long career record. He has
first-hand experience in most marketing disciplines, particularly
strategic planning, market research, advertising, sales promotion,
objective creativity and communication. Though most of his career was
spent in London advising blue-chip clients he is now based in Essex and
includes knowledge transfer and coaching in his repertoire. He has
penned many marketing related guides and is a keen observer of business
issues. Jeff is a Member of the Institute of Business Advisers and the
Institute of Business Consultants. He is also a Chartered Marketer and a
Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Roy Edwards is a trainer and lecturer
with more than ten years’ experience working in the new media industry.
He holds an MA in Journalism Studies and has worked for a number of
large international agencies and consultancies, developing interactive
strategies and online marketing campaigns for many blue chip companies.
Roy lectures on e-Business and e-Commerce at London Metropolitan
University and has tutored small businesses at the University of Essex.
He has also worked with numerous small businesses across a number of
sectors and industries.
Ian
Glenister
holds a number of directorships and currently works as a business
consultant, management coach and training specialist. He has a number
of years’ experience designing and delivering executive development and
training programmes both in the public and private sector and has an
intimate understanding of the needs of the managing director/owner.
Ian’s consultancy work with small businesses ensures that he remains in
touch with the issues and the concerns of the owners. Ian has a host of
professional qualifications to support his credentials and has been
recognised as a Subject Matter Expert in his field of expertise.
Patrick Hitchen is
currently a Lecturer in Management in the Essex Business School at the
University of Essex. Patrick has an honours degree in Business
Management and a Master’s in Business Administration. He is also a
fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Prior to becoming an academic he
held a number of senior management positions within both the public and
private sector. Most recently this included a senior strategic
management post within the UK Post Office and a director level role in
business development with Informa Plc, a FTSE listed global
communication organisation. Patrick currently lectures on undergraduate
modules in management, marketing and business strategy. In 2008 he
received the University of Essex Excellence in Teaching Award for his
contribution to teaching within Essex Business School.
Jonathan Myers
holds an Advanced Diploma in Education from the University of London and
an MBA from Hull University. He has run a number of successful small
businesses and so combines real practical experience with over 17 years
of lecturing experience. Jonathan continues to work at a senior level in
a number of small and medium-sized enterprises. He has carried out
extensive research into his specialist area of bullying in the
workplace, which gained him a distinction on his MBA dissertation.
Camille Nickson is a fellow
of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development with a
particular interest and skills in leadership and personal development.
Camille has worked as a consultant for 13 years during which time she
has focused on understanding the evolvement of leadership and management
development. She has worked with many clients both in the public and
private sector including Marks and Spencer, Capita, Barlclays Bank, Ford
Motor Company, English Heritage, Ofsted and the Arts Council. She
qualified as a coach in 2003 with a distinction and is also a qualified
MBTI, FIRO, SDI practitioner. The key part of Camille’s success is in
her ability to inspire and enable all delegates to transfer the learning
into the workplace.
Rick Payne
is
an independent trainer and executive coach. Having qualified as a
Chartered Accountant, he worked in international banking at senior
management level and then moved into organisational development. As a
qualified NLP Master Practitioner, Coach and Trainer he is committed to
helping people develop new skills and reach their potential. Rick is
currently studying for an MSc in Organisational Behaviour at Birkbeck
College, University of London.
Elizabeth Peck
is an
independent Business Psychology Consultant, experienced in coaching,
organisational development and research. Elizabeth takes an
evidence-based approach to addressing business issues. She is also
trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and combining this with her
Psychology background takes a particular interest in individual
development, both from a personal and career perspective. Elizabeth has
worked across private and public sectors in both the UK and abroad.
Steve Roberts has a long
career in sales and marketing at both the sharp end and at board level.
He has a wide range of experience in marketing and sales strategy,
public relations, sales promotion, event management and creating new
sales channels. Steve runs his own business that advises small
businesses on implementing sales and marketing strategies and developing
new channels to market through the use of technology. He has a Diploma
in Marketing and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and
Associate of the Institute of Business Advisers.
Teddy Shansonga
is a consultant specialising in strategy, marketing and brand
development. From an engineering background, Teddy has 20 years’
experience of research and development, new product design and
development, product marketing and operations management. He has
managed a range of different successful product introductions including
a complex range of global products. He has also run a start-up business
from green field to a highly profitable multimillion pound operation in
new emerging markets. Teddy has a BSc and PhD from City University and
an MBA from the University of Warwick.
Steve Sharrad
is an experienced
IT technical specialist who has supported both multi user, multi site
networks at enterprise level and smaller home and business
configurations. His roles have required an in depth understanding of
existing and cutting edge technologies together with the operational and
strategic needs of business in order to facilitate an optimal solution.
Steve has trained and mentored a variety of individuals, in one to one
and group settings and is able to empathise with the concerns and
difficulties faced by both the user and the individual overseeing
implementation and support. His people skills enable him to explain
complex concepts in a clear, enthusiastic way and to resolve conflict
situations successfully. Steve is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
and a Dell Certified Server and RAID Engineer
Peter Such
played professional cricket for 20 years, taking
over 1000 wickets before retiring in 2001. During his career, he
represented Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Essex and England and he
was part of a team that won 2 County Championships and appeared in three
Lords Cup Finals, winning twice. Since retiring from the game, Peter
created and led the Essex County Cricket Club Academy and worked for a
global outsourcing company. He now adds value to organisations with whom
he works by building skills within that organisation, differentiating
himself from others in this field by leveraging on his sporting
background to highlight and develop the key skills that go into
excellent team and individual performances.
He believes a great many sporting skills are equally applicable
in the business world when it comes to the development of excellence. He
is passionate about the value of coaching and bases his philosophy on a
proven track record as an elite performer and coach.
