Biography

Hussain is a lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the University of Essex, Southend. He holds a Bachelor in Accounting with distinction, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with distinction (University of Punjab) and a PhD in Business Management with a specialization in Finance (University of Minho, Portugal). Hussain's research explores contemporary issues at the intersection of accounting, finance and management. His work has been published in world-leading and internationally excellent academic journal outlets including Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions, and Money, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of Business Research, Business Strategy and the Environment, amongst several others. He is an ad-hoc reviewer for different leading journals. Hussain is active in participating and presenting work at international conferences such as the European Financial Management Association (EFMA), Portuguese Finance Network (PFN), and European International Business Academy (EIBA). He is the winner of Executive Dean Funding (University of Essex) of 2023 and merit scholarships (University of Punjab). He welcomes proposals from potential PhD students with innovative and ambitious projects.
